On Friday, June 6, 1952, in Osceola with his family, Dale wrote, “To Ruth and Louie’s in the morning. Dinner at Mother’s. Visited at Marie’s. Drove back to Muscatine by 7 p.m. Hot today and tonight.” Louie (above center) was one of Helen’s brothers, and Ruth (above left) was his wife. Marie (above right) was Dale’s sister.
