In Muscatine on Tuesday, January 2, 1951, Dale wrote, “Worked 7 to 3:30. Very icy on streets. I was 10 minutes late to work. No school on account of ice on roads. Had meat loaf for supper. Kids went to a show in afternoon. TV at night.”
